I remember the reflective particles in those days were very heavy, and either made the skin flat or shiny. “No one understood what I meant by éclat. Touche Éclat was one of the first highlighting products ever created. Instead of just adding powder, I’d mix a drop of toner, a drop of lotion, hydration, cream, and a drop of very light foundation, and apply it with a brush on top of the makeup.”ĥ. “As a makeup artist, I had my own recipe to retouch the face after hours of shooting. De Gunzburg had been making a DIY version on sets for years. And it worked! Later, of course we elaborated on the formula.”Ĥ. “I created the mixture myself in a kitchen. The first prototype was made in a kitchen. I asked the research and development team, ‘Can you put a mixture inside, but instead of a very heavy concealer texture I want a liquid, transparent, non-color.”ģ. We had with a sponge, but one day the supplier sent it to me with a brush. Be sure to do some research before making purchases, especially if you do have allergies to certain ingredients.“I received it by mistake. ![]() Please remember that everyone reacts differently to different products – products that work for me may not work well for you. ***My views on these products are from my own personal experiences. Update 16/05/22 - I bought the foundation over the weekend in the same shade as this is now the best matching shade from the range for me! Although I don’t think I’m in a rush to go out and purchase this product right now, I would recommend trying this for anyone who prefers a medium coverage foundation or someone who is looking for an easy, flawless makeup look for summer! This would also be ideal for anyone who isn’t a frequent makeup wearer as it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and requires minimal effort for application. Overall, I’m impressed with how lightweight this foundation felt on my skin and it was refreshing to wear a foundation that wasn’t full coverage but still gave me enough for an even complexion. Depending on how much coverage you’d prefer, this wouldn’t necessarily be a product you run through quickly due to the consistency of the product and how it’s easily blendable. This foundation is currently £36 for a 30ml bottle which is the average price for a high-end foundation. Despite claiming to be a non-comedogenic product, there are a few ingredients with comedogenic ratings so this is something to be wary of if you have enlarged pores/oily skin. The product does contain alcohol though so I wouldn’t recommend this for frequent wear if you have dry/flaky skin. (However, I would always recommend using SPF as a separate product, see my blog post here for info on SPF). The foundation is free from paraben and sulfates and also offers SPF 22 with PA++. I forgot I was even wearing a foundation and wearing this made me realise how heavy my other foundations are! The foundation does look very natural and has a dewy finish however I set this with powder for a more mattified finish which was still natural and not cakey. Although I didn’t wear this for a whole day, for the 8-10 hours I did wear this foundation (on a hot day) I can say that this foundation is definitely lightweight and comfortable to wear. The product claims to offer comfortable wear, hydration and breathable coverage for 24 hours. Minimal effort was required for blending - it was so easy to distribute the product and the foundation was essentially undetectable on my skin (minus the slight tone difference which I mention below). I love using a brush for applying my base makeup so I used a flat-top kabuki brush to blend this out. As it is a medium coverage foundation, I think the application would work great with either a beauty blender or a brush. The foundation is quite runny and has a silky texture to it. The YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint foundation claims to be a weightless and breathable foundation that offers 24-hour hydration, a healthy glow with medium to buildable coverage. Also, as lockdown restrictions are now easing, and like myself, many of you might not have worn makeup as often as before, I thought it would be helpful to review a lightweight foundation you can wear throughout the summer months. ![]() Even though I’m usually into full-coverage foundations, I was intrigued to see if I would be into a lighter foundation since I’ve become used to wearing minimal makeup throughout lockdown. That’s why I was delighted when I got hold of a YSL’s bestseller sample, the Touche Éclat Le Teint foundation - I could try out a foundation without committing to a whole bottle.
